What are the benefits of owning Tungsten Bands?
The benefits are the hardness and the  assuring long lasting beauty. Permanently
Polished Tungsten Bands take a brilliant high polish and resist scratching longer
than any metal ever offered to the public.   Roughly ten times harder than 18k gold
and four times harder than Titanium.
What are Tungsten and Tungsten Carbide?
Tungsten, previously referred to as Heavy Stone, is a very hard and dense metal
symbolized by a W or #74 on the periodic elements table that is extracted from
Wolframite ore. Tungsten is used as the filament wire in most light bulbs because it
melts at an extraordinary 6,200 degrees F. When Tungsten is processed with
carbon and other elements it is transformed into Tungsten Carbide (WC), between
8 and 9 on the Mohs hardness scale. A similar formulation of this super hard
composite metal has been widely used for over 50 years as a cutting tool for
industrial applications. A special formulation of Tungsten Carbide has been used as
well for the production of scratch proof wrist watches for over forty years.
What benefits in design does Tungsten Carbide offer?
Tungsten design offers highly polished facets that will remain permanently polished.
The light reflected by Tungsten carbide’s unique  faceted exterior is incomparable
with any other band today.   Conventional bands look beautiful when they are new
because the design details and edges are sharp and polished.   Give these same
rings 12 months of everyday wear and tear and they will look worn.
Will these rings ever scratch, and if so can the scratches be removed?
Solid Tungsten Carbide Bands possess the hardest surface of any ring in history,
but in time will develop small micro-scratches on the surface (similar to how a cut
and polished Sapphire gemstone would wear in time), but they will not be obvious
or diminish the rings luster. Of course the softer gold and platinum inlaid sections in
some rings will in time develop a texture and offer wearers the look of an attractive
contrast between a high brilliant polish and a soft natural colored texture. The
service of polishing out small scratches is possible when submitted to the factory.
What if a Tungsten Band gets stuck on your finger, can it be safely removed if necessary?
Tungsten bands are engineered to be safely and easily removed in case of
emergency.  Just crack the ring once with a wrench, rotate the ring 1/3 of the way
and crack the ring again.  It should make the ring crumble off your hand.
If this happens, Arthur’s will replace your ring for only $40.  Just submit the ring
parts or the broken ring to Arthur’s, and we will replace the ring for you with a
new ring.  If the ring design has been discontinued, Arthur’s will replace it with a
similar ring for $40.
